My fitness journey started in 2014. At that time I was a fragile, weak, depressed, chronic pain sufferer desperate to find a solution to my ongoing back pain issues. After trying every type of therapy and therapeutic device known to man, none of which worked, my last resort was to try exercise, specifically, weight/strength training. I didn't know at the time, but that decision to try exercise was about to profoundly change my life. When I first started training I was so weak. My muscles were atrophied and sore. It hurt to move, let alone exercise. I also had terrible self-esteem. I hated the way I looked, I doubted my ability to do anything and I was clinically depressed and anxious. Over the next 3 years, I literally worked my arse off, to get me to where I am today. However, they say you're only as successful as the people around you. That couldn't be more true. I have been lucky to have the knowledge and support of a fantastic coach - Gavin Pratt from @gcpfitness. Over the past 3 years, Gav has not only written all my programs, specific to all my issues, modifying and adapting when needed but he has also helped me with my mental strength. He taught me how to believe in myself, my abilities and capabilities. He has always believed in me, even when I didn't. His continuous unwavering support has been a critical part to my success. Like any real journey, it hasn't been easy. I've had plenty of ups, downs, obstacles, injuries and disappointments, but through it all my coach has literally had my back. Reassuring me and getting me back on track and refocused on what I could control. Today, I sat back and thought about everything I have experienced through my journey so far and I honestly wouldn't change a thing, even the tough times because they are the times that REALLY tested me and moulded me into the confident, strong, independent and self-assured woman I am today. Yeah, I love my #gains. The confidence they have given me is amazing, but more importantly, the inner changes and personal growth I gained through the process of obtaining them, is what I am most proudest of. Never give up and make your IMPOSSIBLE - POSSIBLE 💪
