TOPIC 👉🏼 CARB TIMING Part 2 ➖ So yesterday we spoke about the role of insulin and insulin sensitivity so today lets dive further into why carb timing is often worried about👇🏼 ➖ Another (more scientific) theory out there behind timing carbs, especially post workout, is due to the increased translocation of GLUT4 that comes from training. Essentially, GLUT4 is considered a glucose transporter which aids in glucose uptake into the muscle cells after weight training (another post needed lol). Great, so let’s shove all my carbs post workout so they all go to my muscles… Not so fast lol. Sure GLUT4 aids in muscular glucose uptake but what your scientific nerds fail to also tell you is that GLUT4 is also a glucose transporter into FAT cells so sure it will help transport glucose to your muscles after training but also to the fat cells, much like insulin, so you really can’t win. Furthermore, GLUT4 isn’t just upregulated 10-30mins post workout and then gone for good. Instead it’s actually upregulated for hours and hours after training and remains upregulated usually until glycogen stores are back to normal, sometimes taking up to 24hrs so you are still reaping those GLUT4 carb uptake gains from training at 10am at 8pm when you are having your pasta at dinner. ➖ So, as you can see, though there may be slight benefits to morning and/or post workout carbohydrate timing and a slight increase in carb tolerance during the recovery period post training, the difference is minimal when you look at the WHOLE picture and its impacts on your CHRONIC progress. Sure go ahead and place some of your carbs post workout and reap their anti-catabolic, amino acid sparing effects but you don’t really need to be placing ALL your carbs for the day in one period just because of its minor benefits (micro scale) and that on a macro scale, once CALORIES are matched, you will ultimately gain/lose the same amount of fat whether you time or don’t time carbs, spike or not spike your insulin, upregulate or downregulate GLUT4 etc. etc. 👉🏼 PART 3 comming Friday ✌🏼🤓

The first picture is from about two months ago when I was eating meat, missing workouts & I was 190lbs as a trainer losing my focus on myself & only focusing on my clients which is bitter sweet for my clients atleast..The second picture is from last week after a month & a half of being on my semi-vegetarian lifestyle change (I don't like the word diet lol) I only eat meat once a week, no beef or pork only lean meats like chicken, turkey, & fish one day out of the week I am now 175lbs & back in the gym working hard 💪🏽 Look at the difference in definition.. Day two Breakfast This is weird because I don’t eat breakfast usually.
