My hour is complete ..cardio warmup ✔️abs with xhit ✔️ plus mountain climbers flutter kicks & laying leg raises 3sets of 10 each ✔️my abs were popping after dat .. then bench press 30 reps 10 RM .. then leg extensions & curls (more weight going on from Monday ) . ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ So sorry about how the hotel downlighting highlights the extremely small glute gains I made over my YEAR+ offseason perfectly (💁🏻‍♀️😂). Working fairly specifically to grow in that area. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ This is obviously a throwback picture. 7am, flat and half asleep the morning of @pca_official Hampshire 2018 - (lolly what even is a waist when you can barely move these days 🤷🏻‍♀️😂). ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ This post was originally going to be about a ‘flexible’ prep vs ‘bro’ prep. (For the record this years prep was flexible AF, (hi wildin’ in London 6 weeks out with @koachkar_ ), and had I not have injured myself 4 weeks out, I think, with the help of @alan_carson, I would have actually nailed condition for Hampshire). ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ However things don’t always turn out as planned.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Life throws curve balls.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Instead, due to injury, I missed out of 4 final crucial weeks of fat loss and my head went. (A story for another time)(& all of that said, I also still placed 2nd 🤷🏻‍♀️🙏🏻❤️).⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Also for the record, having taken both approaches, next time I prep, it’ll be bro all the way for Snelson for a few reasons, 2016 style, (also a story for another time). ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ANYWAY ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The point I’m going to make this morning issss... The importance of your OFFSEASON. Or improvement season. Or bulk life if you must call it that. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ All the way back in 2016 I competed for the first time, with FOUR years of fairly solid training under my belt, and after having competing on my radar for a year+ before that.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I had a good foundation of musculature, and after a SOLID mini improvement season with AC, (2,400kcals of pure bro food a day, consistently, for 3 months), I made a few more gains on top of the muscle I’d already accrued over the previous 3 years. Despite winning Hampshire 2016, the women’s overall, and placing 2nd in the British Finals, I was still too small. Glutes & shoulders I was told. So glutes & shoulders I did grow. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Very slowly.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Very patiently.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ With A LOT of work. (2017 off season courtesy of @ajmorris_ this girl WURKD 🙏🏻).⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Over a very extended period of time.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ In a DECENT caloric surplus.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ A whole year.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Did I make 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
