@bellona_rising - You know what was hard to me🙈: . ❌Not being strong enough to pick up my kid off the ground at 52 lbs ❌Not being able to climb a flight of stairs without losing my breathe ❌Not being able to run to catch my kid if he was running ❌Not being able to comfortably fasten my seatbelt on a plane ❌Not being able to shop in regular clothe stores b/c I needed special large sizes ❌Not being able to ride an amusement park ride because you don't fit ❌Not being able to feel comfortable in my own skin ❌Not being able to put my sneakers or socks on without a struggle ❌Not being able to keep up with my kid ❌Not being able to feel comfortable walking into a gym ❌Not being able to believe in myself ❌Feeling trapped in my body as an obese and sick person! . Making any changes are tough at first. You have to commit to it until you establish that new "norm" and stop looking at it like a "diet" or "weight loss program" ... no, living healthy is now a way of life! Calling this hard, is just an excuse. . You know what's easy after losing 134 lbs (now): . 💥Being strong enough to swoop my kid of the floor like a feather 💥Being able to run up flights of stairs (skipping steps at a time) 💥Racing my kid at the park 💥Sitting comfortably in a plane seat and even crossing my legs 💥Riding an amusement park ride of my choice 💥Being able to shop in any store I want now 💥Bend over to put my shoes on with no tummy in the way 💥Knowing and feeling and believing I am strong 💥Being a strong woman - mentally, emotionally, and physically! . This means your body is in balance & capable of producing efficient fore & power. Pause squats are a helpful variation that can help you address a weakness you may have in maintaining stability or the ability to coordinate your ascent well in this manner.✅ . When you pause in the bottom, you lose the explosive power assistance your body naturally gets from a quick turnaround – making the ascent more difficul. But that’s the point.😉 . Watch how this Isabella takes a huge breath & braces her core between each rep and holds this breath through the full pause to ensure her core stability remains sufficient to maintain her technique through the full rep.🏋🏼‍♀️ . After a short pause, drive the hips and chest up at the same rate. This is more difficult after a pause and causes you to clean up problems in coordination while improving your strength as you have to ascend from a dead stop.🙌🏼 . If you are going to do a longer pause (5+ seconds for example) you can breath while sitting in the bottom position - holding your breath that long under load could cause you to pass out! BUT don’t let ALL your air out! Maintain most of your breath and take SMALL sips of air in & out so you can still maintain your stability.✅ Letting all of your air out while squatting big weight will cause a large transfer of forces to the small structures of your spine⛔️❌ . From the front view you can see her ability to maintain a good level of knee stability through and after the pause.✅ . After 1 hour of cross training and 1 hour of boxing, I trained some drills for rings muscle up and I gave a try (finally) to my handstand. After many attempts I could have some "more than 2 sec" holds. I need to work my balance but these holds are not so bad for my level, even if it is absolutely nothing glorious or amazing. I think these videos are part of my PB's (but obviously my best try was not recorded).
