Summer is the perfect time to have a little fun with these smoothie bowls!😍 . When it’s so dang hot outside that you can’t bring yourself to cook, much less to actually eat hot food, this is a perfect solution! . I promised to share with you a how-to in getting the perfect smoothie bowl, so here goes! . Smoothie Bowl Base The ingredients for your base can vary widely, but the one overarching requirement is that it be thick enough to hold up your pretty toppings! No soupy smoothies here. . Frozen fruit is a great place to start, and I love adding my superfoods shake powder here so my smoothie bowls are loaded with protein, veggies, antioxidants, pre- and pro-biotics, adaptogen herbs and more. . I’ve even used a base of frozen spinach, ice, water, and my vanilla shake mix! All the fruits were placed on top for a pretty presentation and when mixed together the sweetness of the base with the tart toppings was SO delicious! . If you find your smoothie isn’t thick enough, add more ice and blend again. You want it to be spoonable, not pourable. . Toppings! The world is your oyster here, and anything goes! The one important rule is hat your toppings be prepared BEFORE your smoothie. Otherwise the smoothie will sit and melt while you create your masterpiece. . Chopped fruit is an obvious choice, but also try things like freeze dried fruit, coconut, nuts, seeds, granola, or my favorite: our new protein bar chopped into small pieces! . And just like that, you’ve got an artful creation that’s just as pretty in your mouth as it is in your bowl! . I want to see your creations!
