I’ve been really abusive to my body lately with all the workouts I’ve been doing. I’m trying to counteract the internal and external repercussions. Between running and another new workout, I have a lot of bruising and tight muscles. My body loves me, what can I say?! Here’s my game plan to try to repair: ⭐️slathering Vaseline on my toes/heel to soften dry skin (thanks to blisters on top of blisters on top of blisters). Then put socks on and sleep overnight with them on to really let your skin soak it in. ⭐️massaging Arnicare cream into my legs, knees down where most of the old injuries and developing bruises are. ⭐️rolling out with a foam roller and my new Addaday roller. . . Sitting on a desk all day? Are you seating up straight? Let me save you the time... you’re not! No one is. • From office jobs to texting to driving or school, we spend so much time everyday in thoracic flexion leading to a host of problems down the line. Coming into a rounded position is totally fine, however, spending 8 hours a day slumped forward is not. • One of my first(but definitely not only) methods is the thoracic extension on a foam roller. This really opens up the upper torso and gets you out of the rounded posture we spend so much time in. By no means does a simple 1 minute mobility drill erase hours of poor habits but it’s a start to becoming more aware. • Remember that this is not meant for a huge extension through the lumbar spine. So get set at the top, support your head, brace your core and lean back slowly. • Doing this for your first time will definitely feeling amazing!

Stretching and Core for tonight. 🧘🏻‍♀️ #worldyogaday - Really listened to my body and did what felt right. Stretched out my legs which are still sore from Monday. Picked out a few tools to work with but had no plan or set reps, just flowed.🤸🏻‍♀️ - I’m a planner. I sometimes get carried away with trying to ensure things are perfect. Staying organized, even if it looks chaotic from the outside, is critical to me. Being unprepared gives me anxiety. I have to force NOT to plan sometimes and just see what happens. 🗒 - I did this while watching TV. Being fit is a way of life, and there are small ways to include. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just move. I’ve been reminding myself of this more and more lately. Just move. 📺
Welp! Leg day took a little longer than planned. My right quad has been tightening up on me the last week or two because it has a couple knots in it. Usually I’m good, but after too many lunges and squats it will basically just stop firing because it’s too tight. Guess what?!?!? Leg day had a bunch of lunges and squats...who’d have thought?!?!?! - - - I had to stop after Buddha squats to roll out with my little friend here. I’ve been reading a lot of comment and getting DMs about people asking how to recover after leg day and how sore they are. Mild to moderate muscle soreness is common and generally harmless. On the other hand, severe muscle soreness can be damaging and dangerous. It’s important to know the difference between reasonable muscle soreness caused by exercise, and pain due to overuse or muscle injury. If your pain you’re experiencing prevents you from carrying out daily activities associated with living or working or the discomfort lasts for more than 72 hours, then the exercise was too much. Me & this #foamroller have a love hate relationship for sure. I hate to use it. It loves to torture me 🤣 but today my hip was bothering me so it was a necessary evil!! The hip already feels significantly better with a little extra attention.
