And the week is finally half way over, or rather a little more than halfway now. I have to keep reminding myself to not think about the work week in a negative way anymore though. Our thoughts hold so much power. They can control the energy that we put out into the universe and they control what we get back. When I don’t listen to what the situation is telling me and I give into my anxiety, things always turn out worse. I dig these little holes that I can’t get out of. I’m trying to teach myself how to decipher the difference between the anxiety and irrational thoughts that come with it, and what the situation REALLY is and what is the best thing to do. And sometimes the outcome that is beneficial for me doesn’t come as quickly as seeing what needs to be done. Sometimes the positive benefits come long after the decision is made. The instant gratification is what I always sought because my irrational thoughts said “you had this idea, it HAS to be done NOW regardless of if it’s the right thing to do right now” This is something that I fail at actually doing a lot. But it’s also a lot less that I used to fail because I no longer make excuses for my actions, I tell myself the truth. Even when I don’t like it. But it helps me feel at peace low in situations that I have to wait to see the benefit or positive outcome. Me v. I use to loathe front squats. The bar positioning, having the wrist mobility, keeping your elbows up. the sore shoulders 🤯 But damn they’re worth it! I started using straps because I lack the wrist mobility and it changed the game up! 115 3x8 is moving like butter! I see a plate in the near future 😍 . Another accessory after squats I tried for the first time was Bulgarian split squats 70 3x10 the weight felt easy but the balance felt super strange. Just another weakness to tackle. When I first started at the gym, I couldnt do this move, my coach @bethrager calls it a double donkey kick. I overcompensated in my neck but 3mos later Im kicking it so hard I might fly off the bench. I also moved this trap bar around for deadlifts. 16 week transformation! 🙌🏼 The beginning of the year was rough for me- I started a new career which I absolutely hated, I felt stuck and had no direction on where I wanted to go in life/what I wanted to do...I had lost my love for fitness and couldn’t find the drive which I once had. Working such long hours I struggled big time to stick to a routine and eat right for my body- despite knowing how I should be eating I had no self discipline and was constantly restricting cals -> binge eating -> repeat and as a result gained a lot of fat, I became so unhappy with the way I looked and felt, so I decided it was finally time to make a change. I hired a coach to try and help me, however it didn’t work out, I didn’t agree with her approach- she kept pushing for me to restrict my calories so much so I could be ready for a bikini Comp by October, this was not my goal, I had no energy and couldn’t even finish a workout because I would get so light headed-if I had followed her advice I’m sure I would have ruined my metabolism. I realised I was capable of doing this on my own! And I did... no restricting food groups, still enjoying the foods I love in moderation, no cardio... this is not just a body transformation this is a life transformation, I now have direction and goals and hunger for success. I’m full of energy and the happiest I have ever been.
