Nearly time to embark on 3 weeks holiday with my favourite human, Thailand here we come!
I think it’s safe to say we all have those days when we don’t feel great about ourselves . When we think nothing looks good on. When we take a picture in every angle but still think we look bad. When you feel like all the hard work you’re putting in isn’t coming through . This picture was from my workout last week and I was in a rotten mental state . I didn’t like how my shorts fit My arms looked awful in every picture I felt uncomfortable with how my thighs looked These thoughts pulled me down so low, made me feel like a failure . Later that evening as I was complaining about how I felt, how I looked, Sean gently reminded me maybe my problem is my mindset. And he was right. I needed to shift my negative thoughts to positive ones. I had to take a step back . I remembered that those are my favorite shorts that I got a sick deal on. I remembered that those arms are getting stronger and I can do more pushups now more than I ever could. I had to remember those legs took me on a 7 mile run that morning and didn’t give out . Our mindset has a lot to do with how we view our circumstances, how we feel, how we perform everyday doesn’t it? What if, instead of thinking negatively about ourselves, about our situations, we shifted our mindset, shifted our perspective to remind ourselves that we are strong, we are capable, we are giving our best? Because it’s not fun to live in negativity, to live in that state of feeling like a failure. When I was a kid I had a grapefruit tree right outside my bedroom window and it was my breakfast most mornings when it was in season. So I was excited when the organic shop had the BIGGEST grapefruits in the other day. Breakfast sorted! 👌🏼 What’s your favourite fruit??

Try to find the silver lining in things. . Injuries suck. Made it to the chiropractor yesterday and it definitely helped, but I know this injury will take a few weeks and treatments to work through it. Rather than get too discouraged, I’m seeing this as a sign to focus on my nutrition, which has gotten way to loose over the last several weeks. Sometimes it’s better to keep silent than to tell others how u feel. Because it hurts badly when you come to know they can hear you but they can’t understand. Today I have to go and see the company docter again. She told me that I have to go back to work for a few hours this week. Still she doesn’t get what’s really going on. I’ll try and explain it to her again but I don’t have any high hopes that she suddenly understands! At this moment i’m kinda past all the sadness and mad as hell! DOUBLE TAP ❤️ if you love KOMBUCHA!! Kombucha is literally popping up everywhereee...but what is kombucha? And are some brands of kombucha better than others? 🤔 —⠀ Kombucha is a fermented tea. It is made by combining ✖️green and/or black tea ✖️sugar and a ✖️Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast (commonly known as SCOBY). The SCOBY ferments (breaks down) the sugar which changes the polyphenol content of the tea into different organic compounds which increases the acidity of the brew and creates the “tangy” taste of the kombucha. It is these organic compounds that are thought to be of health benefit thus making kombucha a functional health beverage.⠀ —⠀ The final nutritional composition of the kombucha (and thus its health benefit) is dependent on many factors including 👉🏼 the bacteria and yeast used 👉🏼 the initial concentrations of tea and sugar 👉🏼 fermentation time and temperature and 👉🏼 oxygen and carbon dioxide levels. While many brands are creating their own unique brews of kombucha they aren’t always the “real deal” meaning that the health benefits associated with kombucha will not hold true to all 😱 Below are 3 things to look for when buying your next bottle of buch’ ⠀ —⠀ ✖️ ENSURE IT IS REFRIGERATED. Cool temps keep the bacteria and yeast living and stops the fermentation process. ✖️ CHECK IT IS MADE FROM A SCOBY. The SCOBY transforms the tea and sugar into a functional health beverage. Watch out for ingredients such as “kombucha extract” as this puts a question mark over whether a SCOBY was used.⠀ ✖️CHECK THE SUGAR CONTENT. Because the SCOBY feeds on the sugar during fermentation there should only be a small amount left in the kombucha. While every company will use different quantities of sugar in their brews, aim for <3g sugar per 100ml and avoid brands with added sweeteners such as stevia as these may compromise the fermentation process and thus health benefits of the kombucha.⠀ —⠀ In this comparison @mojobeverages would by my pick. 🎃the pumpkin recipe. - 🎃No no, I'm not here to tell how I discovered pumpkins again don't worry, but they still are one of my hidden weight loss treasures that I can't believe I only figured out at the later part of my journey. - 🎃I'll be the first to admit compared to sweet potatoes or normal potatoes, pumpkins usually aren't my first choice in terms of taste, texture, or just food in general. But the thing is pumpkins are so low in calories it's difficult to completely ignore them too. - 🎃100g = 26kcal - 🎃That's right. 26kcal. A normal sized banana is about 100kcal. 100g of sweet potatoes is about 86kcal. A bowl of rice is about 200kcal. A slice of bread is about 72kca. A hard boiled egg is about 80kcal. That's right, pumpkins are 26kcal for 100g. - 🎃It's gotten to a point where sometimes I don't even weigh pumpkins and just start stuffing it in my mouth. I remember the last time I stuffed my mouth with pumpkin it got to a point where I almost hurled and I still haven't ate 50kcal worth. - 🎃"yeah yeah, I've heard that story already, how do you make your pumpkins?" - 🎃Ah! I'm glad you asked. - 🎃I know there's a bunch of different types of pumpkins, honestly I consider them all the same. Sometimes it's those Halloween type pumpkins, sometimes it looks like a papaya. Generally, I just treat them the same. - 🎃I prep the pumpkin by cutting it up into sizes that I want. Big or small is no big difference. Take away the seeds (my better half likes to keep the seeds, soak them overnight in water, and slow bake them the next day. Personally, I find it too troublesome), and put it in the oven at 170-190C for 40-50 minutes. - 🎃I've found sprinkling a dash of cinnamon on it gives it a nice Christmas-y feel & taste, but the fam isn't a fan of that at all so I haven't been seasoning it at all much now. - 🎃The only downside I've found from pumpkins is no matter how stuffed I am with them, I seem to get hungry quite quickly. Quickly in the sense of 2-3hrs? Whereas sweet potatoes could easily last me 4-5hrs if I stuffed myself with them. - 🎃What's your favorite pumpkin dish?

🧘🏼‍♀️ HABITS ☕️⠀ ⠀ Habits can be good or bad. Hard working, regular exercise, healthy eating, meditation, etc are some of my good habits. ⠀ ⠀ Now let’s talk about some of my bad. Too much coffee, procrastination, over thinking, overspending etc...⠀ ⠀ One of my not so good habits I want to concentrate on is COFFEE. I love coffee, I enjoy the taste and the aesthetic of having a coffee in my hand and the social side, but I’m not someone that relies on coffee, well I don’t think so 🤭 So whilst I’m doing the 6 week transformation challenge I’m not going to have 2 coffees a week and for the other 10 coffees I would of had a week I’m substituting it with peppermint tea, warm lemon water, earl grey. ⠀ ⠀ Has anyone got any recommendations on tasty substitutes ☕️

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY 🌟 I can’t begin to explain how excited I am right now. My last official weigh in (Saturday morning) I was 400g away from 30kg loss. I tend to weigh a couple days at the end of the day to make sure I’m tracking along when I have goals in close reach but don’t count it as offical because it’s the end of the day. BUT. today I did it, i weighed in - at the end of the day and made it to my 30kg loss and I AM SO EXCITED. Swipe right for some transformation pictures - on the left, September 2017 at 106.7kg and on the right today at 76.7kg. I’m not one to post my weight, I find both that and posting these before photos very scary but it proves how far I’ve come and how hard I’ve worked to make the best version of myself.
