⚡️FLASHBACK FRIDAY ⚡️ . “It’s never too late to be what you might have been!” The pic on the left is me at 20, the middle in my 30’s where I weighed 250 plus pounds, and on the right is me currently at 47! I have been thin, heavy, thin, heavy more times then I can count. Now I can say I’m strong! After years of emotional eating, yo-yo dieting I now focus on being healthy, and making both my mind and body stronger! No special “diet” or magic potion. I think as a mom I lost myself in being the “kids mom” my “husbands wife.” I never took time for myself because I felt the guilt of taking the time out needed to be the best version of myself. I made excuses that my family needed me for one thing or the other as a reason for not working out. After a life changing event not too long ago I realized a change needed to happen. It’s OK to be a little selfish. It’s OK to take the time you need to be the best you. It may make SOME people around you uncomfortable with your change but it’s super important to practice self care.....that’s not only what we put in our bodies, how we workout but also how we talk to ourselves! Stop TALKING about a change and make it happen! You didn’t get where you are overnight so stop expecting results overnight! Take things ONE DAY AT A TIME! ➡️1 day behind, but I’m not looking back➡️ I LOVE this week’s workouts, but they’re super hard! Especially on my knees! I’ve never had an issue with my knees hurting after working out. It’s usually my quads or hamstrings that stay super sore from these high intensity workouts. . . . But this also means that I’m pushing myself and I’m working muscle groups that I don’t usually work. This means that I’m challenging myself in ways that I’ve never challenged myself before! A challenge is always good because it shocks our body! This week my body has defined been shocked and even throughout this whole program my body has been pushed to new limits! When I started this program on Oct 22, I couldn’t even hold myself up in a plank position and row a dumbbell without falling on my face! . . . I do feel a little guilty because I took a rest day on Wednesday because I was so sore and I had a really busy day. I hate being a day behind, but I’m going to do it on Sunday to finish the program! I definitely needed the rest day, but getting back in it yesterday was awesome! Taking a rest day is OKAY, just keep moving forward and don’t look back!
