Siccome in questa stagione faccio una gran fatica a bere 2lt di acqua al giorno, devo trovare il modo di andare a prenderla dagli alimenti. Quale cibo migliore delle verdure per poter avere un buon apporto di acqua, vitamine e micronutrienti che nella nostra dieta giornaliera non devono mai mancare? Non sono un'amante delle carote 🥕 lo ammetto, ma sono uno tra i vegetali, fonte di beta-carotene, precursore della vitamina A, ad azione antiossidante e antitumorale e benefico per la crescita cellulare, per la pelle, per il cuore e per gli occhi. Inoltre, sono presenti altre sostanze benefiche come alfa-carotene, luteina e zeaxantina. Grazie a questi preziosi componenti, sono molte le proprietà delle carote: regolano le funzioni intestinali, agendo sia come antidiarroico che come lassativo; sono diuretiche e depurative, per questo aiutano in caso di cistiti, o problemi urinari. Il beta-carotene e la vitamina C hanno proprietà antiossidanti, utili nel contrastare i radicali liberi e nel rafforzare il sistema immunitario.Sono utili in caso di problemi di stomaco, colite o disturbi al fegato. Insomma hanno un gran numero di motivi per i quali non ne possiamo proprio fare a meno. E allora che fare se non ci piacciono? La soluzione più buona e a parer mio é bollirle e frullarle nella stessa acqua in cui sono state cucinate, aggiungere un po' di sale, aglio in polvere, pepe, noce moscata e un po' di parmigiano. Avrete una buona zuppa per questa stagione, un ottimo apporto di liquidi con tutti i benefici elencati sopra. Every Friday for the last month I have been driving down to Seattle to hang out with my big brother. This means that every Friday, I haven’t hit the gym and if I decide to spend the night I usually don’t lift Saturday either. Yesterday I changed that, got a great lift in and afterwards my neck and back immediately seized leaving me miserable and non functional. I drove the hour and a half home to spend my Saturday icing, visiting the chiropractor and getting massages. I think most important is to enjoy the process, if you don’t you’re less likely to stick with it. Mine revolves around compound movements, such as deadlifts, squats, hip thrust. Plus single leg work, rows, chin ups, push-ups. I just can’t praise them enough. You can do countless exercises, tooon of volume and achieve success. But you want to build some muscles, compound movements are a no brainer. IMHO.
