I believe it is very important that we follow the rules and also respect the beliefs when we visit a place. Photography or taking videos is not allowed in the inside temple of most of the monasteries in Ladakh. However, they allow it in few places and this photo is taken in one of them. In the same way, please respect when the restrictions are imposed not to photograph the army bases and some of the connecting bridges. I do make it a point not to violate it. #ladakh . . . . . . . . . . #iamtb #travelphotography #indiantravelblogger #womenwhotravel #himalayas #monastery #canon_photography #canon #buddha #buddhism #respectindianarmy #indianarmy #peace #india #india_undiscovered #indiantraveller #dslr_official #_coi #lpmi #cntraveler #leh #tripotocommunity #himachal #indiantravelvlogger #travelvlogger @photographers.of.india #indiapixels
Our first trip towards North East part of India. And we fell in love with our first spot - Shillong Peak. ✨ Shillong peak gives you a complete view of shillong city. There's a telescope installed which can be used to observe the city. Good thing is that it is free of cost and can be used for any duration if no one else is waiting. This place is inside Air force campus and thus maintained perfectly. ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ #shillong #shillongdiaries #shillongbeauty #shillongpeak #shillongphotography #shillongscotlandoftheeast #shillongviewpoint #meghalaya #meghalayatourism #meghalayadiaries #meghalayatrip #discovermeghalaya #mesmerizingmeghalaya #incrediblemeghalaya #northeastindia #northeast_india #northeasttrails #indiantravelblogger #travelblogger #indiancoupletravel #IncredibleIndia #lpmi #ngtindia #natgeoyourshot #f4fofficial #instagood #likeforlikes #picoftheday #wanderlust #india_undicovered
Imposing and awe-inspiring Jahangir Mahal. A magnificent legacy of the Bundela rulers. As the name suggests, the Jahangir Mahal was built in honour of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, by the Orchha ruler Vir Singh Deo. Here's a little history and context about how this beautiful palace came to be! • • Mughal Prince Salim (also known as Jahangir) and Maharaja Vir Singh Deo, the ruler of Bundela were friends even before they came on the thrones. In the Mughal court, the relationship between Emperor Akbar and his eldest son, Salim was always a tempestuous one. Prince Salim was a bit too susceptible to affairs of the heart, and his dalliance with Anarkali had riled the emperor no end. Abul Fazl, one of the Navratnas or Nine Jewels in Akbar’s court thrived on the rift and persuaded Akbar to forfeit Salim’s heirship to the Mughal throne. Salim revolted against this, and Akbar deputed none other than the Abul Fazl to quell the rebellion. Fazl began a march to Agra to meet Salim’s army in battle, but he first had to cross Bundela region. At this crucial juncture, Vir Singh Deo decided to help his friend Salim in his hour of trial by attacking Fazl’s army and vanquishing it. Not content with that, he chopped off Fazl’s head and presented it to Salim. This was in 1602, and three years later wen Akbar died and Jahangir replaced him as the emperor, it was time for him to repay the favour to his old friend. Accordingly, he bestowed the whole of Bundelkhand to Vir Singh and even attended his coronation in 1606. It was on this occasion that Vir Singh Deo had the Jahangir Mahal built to receive Emperor Jahangir when he visited Orchha. The palace today stands as a memorial to the great friendship between the two erstwhile rulers. • • • #FromMyWindowSeat #DiscoverIndiaMagazine #orchha #india #orchhafort #madhyapradesh #ngtindia #madhyapradeshtourism #mptourism #history #heritage #lpmitravels #lpmi #lpmiphotochallenge #cntgiveitashot #outlooktraveller #outlooktravellerindia #everydayindia #indiagram #incredibleindia #india_gram #indiapictures #indiaclicks #india_ig #architecture #dametraveler #yourshotindia #architecturephotography #sheisnotlost #architecturelovers
"This is a picture of the Leh Palace in Ladakh. Once occupied by Ladakhi royals, the palace today houses some exhibition spaces and a small prayer room. I wanted to capture the beauty of the structure at night, and it took a number of test shots before getting this one right. Luckily for me, the clouds wafted into my frame at the right moment, adding to the beauty of the picture.", says our reader Amit Vakil Photograph: Amit Vakil . . #lpmi #lpmitravels #postcards #instaclick #shotoftheday #photograph #beautifuldestination #lehpalace #ladakh #prayerroom #india
