Hey!! You may have stumbled upon my page randomly and I wanted to take a quick second to introduce myself! My name is Jen and I am a wife, mom, pharmacist and coach. I have been married to my husband Chad for 9 years and we have two very energetic kids - James 7 and Anna 4. I believe that being healthy is more than just diet and exercise. It’s about having the energy and enthusiasm to enjoy everything in life. By taking care of me I am showing my family what health looks like and giving them an example to follow. I want them to be as healthy as possible and that starts by taking care of me. I fell in love with working out at home and having a simple plan to follow. I became a coach to help pay that forward and help other moms regain their energy and self confidence! Every month I run an exclusive online support group where I coach you through a program, teach meal planning and share my recipes and tips for staying on track. I have helped hundreds of women reach their goals and have built so many incredible friendships. I am the founder and CEO Unstoppable Fitness and I have grown an amazing team of decidated and motivated women who are working with me to help others get fit and healthy! We are currently a TOP Canadian Team!! Through this business I have been able to leave my full time pharmacy job to be a full-time coach. I am now home with my kids to see them on and off the school bus and have dinner with them in the evenings. No more coming home from work just in time for books and bedtime. As coaches we are able to work from literally anywhere!! We get to travel to some amazing places - Nashville, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Cancun, Florida, Bahamas, Punta Cana, Jamaica, and all over Canada!! We have so much fun helping others. FOUR MONTH’S DIFFERENCE April ‘18 👉🏽 Aug ‘18 Sometimes our bodies need to “reset.” Mine definitely did. I was doing a LOT of yo-yo ing from last September until starting a #wholefoodplantbased diet in May. I’d start to lean out & then suddenly rebound 😒 If you are pushing yourself & feel like you’re hitting a brick wall with progress, try taking a break from your regular routine for a week or two to allow your metabolism a chance to get shaken up a bit. This is a concept used with carb cycling. If you eat low carb most of the time and then throw in a high carb day (usually every 7-10 days) your metabolism gets “surprised” by the increase in carbs/calories & suddenly revs up, thus aiding in fat loss, but if you keep eating that way every day, your metabolism will quickly adjust & start storing those excess calories as fat. Taking a break from an exercise regimen & then starting again can have a similar effect. You may even want to start out with a lot less cardio & make adjustments, even just by 5-10 minutes, based on your results. I know I could have forced my body to get a lot leaner, as I did previously, but I would have had to go back to 4-5 hour workouts with tons of cardio, & would have ultimately crashed again (according to my doc I depleted my adrenals last year leaving me with poor energy & a low immune system). The drastic changes I’ve made the past few months have helped my body respond better to diet & exercise. Oh hey, it's Hump Day! Real Talk: after I had my son, I lost so much weight (thanks breastfeeding!) that what little booty I did have, disappeared. I thought the only way I could really tone back up, was by going to the gym. But with two small kids, and school, I never found the ambition. I tried the at home gig. And while I am not at my booty goal yet, I've come far. Some resistance bands, a few weights, and a small square of living room. This is approximate because i don’t usually count calories. I am working to build muscle, so it’s high calories and protein. Not my best day of eating, but not my worst. 😉 . Breakfast: cottage cheese and peaches- 250 calories, 26 G protein. . Post workout: @optimumnutrition protein- 120 calories, 24 G protein. . Lunch: Turkey sandwich- 600 calories, 45 G protein. . Snack 1: @lennyandlarrys cookie- 400 calories, 16 G protein. . Snack 2: @sweettoothfairy cupcake- (couldn’t find the calories for this, I’m estimating) 300 calories. . Dinner: 2 crockpot chicken burritos- 600 calories, 40 G protein. . Just remember if you’re looking to lose weight, or maintain, it’ll look different for you. And just because everyone is different.. if we have the exact same goals, same weight, same height... our body’s burn calories differently so what works for me WONT work for you. BUT I always find it helpful to see what others do, and then make adjustments here and there. I obviously have a lot of room for improvement with my sugar intake, but haven’t made it a priority lately.
