Great post by @maxlugavere🙌 . Hey guys! 👋🏼🙇🏻‍♂️ Did you know that you can be in DEEP ketosis (which is basically when your body begins burning fat) without consuming ANY FAT WHATSOEVER? How could this be? Because your body doesn’t just store fat for fun. It stores it TO BURN IT. Put another way, no need to eat "high fat" if you have the fat! . 🧐 Many people experimenting with ketosis try to drive their ketones higher by adding more oils, butter, cheese, and "fat bombs." But the truth is, ketone production in your body is not a function of fat consumed, but of carbs NOT consumed (as well as overall calorie intake). Make sense? - 🍪 Ketone production begins when insulin levels are low, and your body has burned through its stored sugars. Of course, if you're doing a ketogenic diet, you'll need to eat stuff, and particularly things that don't stimulate insulin. What doesn't stimulate insulin? Fat. So you eat fat. But that fat isn't what's driving ketone production. It's the lack of exogenous (externally-sourced) glucose and subsequent insulin spikes. . 💣 How many carbs can you eat and still be in ketosis? EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT. Nutrition isn't a hat 🧢 : there's no such thing as a one-size-fits all diet. All your comments were so kind! Gosh, you guys really are the SWEETEST ❤ It makes my heart warm and fuzzy! So that brings about a question: Do you guys prefer more of the "real" stuff that I post? Like the picture on the right? Where I obviously have my flaws, maybe a little less BS - or do you guys prefer seeing something more done up and "pretty" on the right? I am guilty of getting caught up in the world of social media where everything seems perfect & wonderful.... everyone is gorgeous all the time, always. Which is very much NOT my life most days 😂 (my life is chaos.. a beautiful chaos.. but that means washing my hair is a luxury) - and I fall into a little spiral of getting sucked into trying to be like that. Or thinking that I should be like that. Taking a step back to think about it, it makes it seems less "real".
