The day many of us have been waiting for is here! If you've been training and fueling you should be well on your way to a great open workout. A few tips for those newbies. ....................................................... 1. Don't try anything new! If you've never had a pre-workout before now is not the time to try one out. Sure the pre-workout will give you energy but if you're not accustomed to that extra boost you may feel like your hearts pounding out of your chest and your stomach may even do a flip or two. And if this doesn't seem too bad to you, I suggest trying it on a non-open workout first to make sure you'll be able to get through. ................................................... 2. Eat: Eating is essential for fueling and repairing. Make sure to get a bulk of your carbs in at least 1-2 hours prior to working out, get some protein in and skip any fat. A few good sources: Egg whites, lean meat, veggies, fruit, and whey. .................................................... 3. Recover: Recovery nutrition is probably one of the most overlooked with many. Your muscles are like a sponge and soak up carbohydrates to refuel your body and protein to repair your lean muscle. Get in plenty of water and eat within 30-60 minutes after your workout. Complex carbs to refuel, protein to rebuild and BCAA's to enhance muscle protein synthesis. .......................................................... 4. Friyay Fitness Day!! 💪🏃‍♀️ I don’t always take days off from the insanity I call my job, but when I do, I’m getting in my long run a day early so I can enjoy the weekend with my dear friend. 🙌 Breakfast today 👉 3/4 cup egg whites and 1.75 pieces of ezikel bread (had some issues with separating the frozen pieces of bread). 🧐 Now I shall conquer 17 miles of hard climbs and speedy downhills.
