Yesterday, I stayed up watching The Office & thinking of "My Why's" aka Why I want to eat healthy, why I want to workout, why I want to reduce stress, etc. Having this reminder of why it is important for me to stay on track, I feel will help me a lot to not fail or give into bad habits & old addictions. In our crazy caffeine culture, tea and coffee are daily staples for many. Often with added sugar, flavourings and milk. Unfortunately we see, all too frequently, people who sip on coffee or tea with additives throughout the day, often when they’re working away. (Like our rhyming? 👊) IThe get tooth decay! 😣 Tea in particular by itself, free from additives is a fantastic alternative to water, it naturally contains fluoride and green tea in particular has components that help prevent inflammation of the gums. Coffee is ok, but obviously stains. We can usually easily get the stain off at your hygiene appointment once or twice a year. For me working out is a release. It’s not a punishment or something I HAVE to do but rather something I get to do. It’s a form of therapy for me. It’s a way to relieve stress. It’s something I do for me. It’s something that helps clear my head. It’s something that gives me energy + makes me feel good. It’s something that is crucial for my mental health during the fourth trimester. . Waiting until I was feeling really good since I’m not 100% cleared yet, I decided I needed a little sweat therapy in my life especially after having a really hard day yesterday mentally and emotionally. No matter what I did I needed to take it super easy, slow and listen to my body but I needed to do something! . Testing out a new 20min full body program that is being released and I didn’t use the step, followed the modifier and even modifying the modifier when needed #NoShame . It wasn’t but 5mins into the workout and I was not only winded but also trying to find my coordination to nurse Remy and dodge JT during moves 😂 It was like getting three workouts in one but honestly it was so much fun! It was just what my body and mind needed today plus it was a fun bonding moment with both my boys. Don’t do it for the scale. Don’t do it for others. Happy Thursday! . When it gets cold, as it tends to this time of year, does anyone else just want to lay in bed and never leave? I know I definitely feel like that some days. When it’s freezing out and I get back from class or the gym, I sometimes struggle to find motivation to do anything else for the rest of the day. However, this is less than ideal for both mental and physical health. It’s the days where you have zero motivation that it is most important to get up and get moving. It is definitely difficult to do, sometimes, but once you take the first few steps in the right direction, it is much easier. . Today’s fit kid task is to get up and move. It doesn’t have to be much. Even just a ten minute walk can make a world up difference in how you feel mental and physically. Who knows? Maybe that will be the turning point of your day and kickstart the motivation to get s*** done! . Side note, I’ve decided to start online health and fitness coaching! Workout-read personal Development daily! `I have early morning meetings before work.` `Get to work & well, WORK with my kiddos! `Meetings after work! `Get home, chat it up with Jerry for a smidge. `Get some cuddle time with Reeno, home for 8 hours alone! `Work my side gig. #Wellnessismybusiness I am not well organized but when I do all of the above, I go all in. . We are blessed to have the life we have. YOU can't just sit back and wish for those things to happen! YOU are one person but within you there is something so flipping special! Learning to love my body required getting uncomfortable. It required connecting with my body rather than disassociating from it. And it didn't happen because the number on the scale moved or because my jeans size got smaller. It happened when I built a stronger connection between my mind and my body. I don't do a diet, I do a lifestyle! . I use to obsess with how small I needed to be for modeling, or to look like the girl on the magazines the media deemed the PERFECT👀🤷🏽‍♀️ its funny now because I'm sooooo glad I'm not. Now I understand what my body craves for fuel, when it needs to rest, and when she's ready to exert her Power! . Ladies we need to understand that our bodies were made for a specific purpose and the care we give it now will be the benefit we reap for years to come. Everyone always asks me what I eat to stay so skinny, (for clarification I'm STRONG 💪🏽 not skinny ✌🏽)and I can laugh a lot on the inside because the old me would've been proud to say salad and soups because that was my main diet when I was chasing a reality that wasn't mine. When you have everyone telling you what your body should look like at any cost, you won't be PERFECT until you reach that goal, and dark & dangerous things can happen like.... . #1- You develop a hatred toward your own image (not body goals 😩) . #2- You develop unhealthy habits toward food (under-eat/overeat🥗🥗) . 3- Small will never be small enough (I wanted the huge gap between my thighs 👀, don't judge me) . #4- You suffer in silence because everyone around is perfect in your mind . #5- You become numb and weakened by what supposed to bring you joy. (Poor nutrition, poor mindset=Poor Health) . I could go on with this list but I'll save that for another day, and leave you with this YOUR health Physically, Mentally, & Spiritually is a real and personal thing and there is no right & and wrong only trial, error, & Triumph because as you grow so does your body and if you're not putting in what you put out your results will always be unstable. As a athlete & coach I understand the importance and harmonic balance needed when trying to live in YOUR best body and in Your Best Mind. . I train, I eat according to my lifestyle, and I refocus and regroup when the course changes. SO lets recap: The time before the New Year is special, busy and exciting. We try to finish things up, pay off debts, get rid of old things, free up space for new things and of course make New Year resolutions. And as I have said in my previous post, New Year Resolutions are useless without structure, planning and precise details of how to accomplish them. So, create SMART goals instead of vague resolutions. Here is the thing: most of us do not know how to plan our lives, turn our dreams and desires into goals and achieve them. It is difficult to achieve what you have no clear idea about, if there is no specific criteria, and depending on someone knocking on your door and giving you what you want is ...well, nuts.
